sooooooooooooooooooooo nervous.
ok. so today is lesson three on teasing.. it's the last lesson and the most important one. i got batteries for the remote today, which is GREAT! :D so we can actually watch a new video. the videos take up about 12 minutes just by themselves and I break it up and talk a minute or two in between each section... so yay? :) Oh.. a code was just called near the room I am going to, but hopefully everything is good. So, I want to start the group and talk about the signs and what each of them look like and what they mean. Do a little review and see what the kids remember... then we'll talk about if anyone has ever been teased by a friend of family member before. Does it feel good to be teased by your friends? Do you think it's ok for your friends to tease you? Sometimes it's ok, but not if it makes you sad. If you feel yourself frowning while talking to a friend, then think about how to be cool. Take a deep breath and talk to your friend about why you're sad. Today we're going to watch a video about asking the teaser to stop. We'll watch a video and talk about each section of the video. I'm going to hand out stickers today for students who answer questions, so listen up and answer if you know what the answer is! I'll ask questions during the videos and during our lesson for you to get as many stickers as you can. :) Talk about what happens in the video and then start it up. Play each section and stop it after COLD, HOT, and COOL. talk about what happens in each of the those sections. Does it work when we play the victim and act COLD? does it work when we become a teaser and act HOT? Does it work when we take a deep breath and talk to our friends about what's bothering us and act COOL? Make sure to talk about each section and then talk about the 4 steps of assertion. Tell the teaser exactly what you don't like. Tell the teaser how you feel. Tell the teaser what you want. Tell the teaser what will happen if you can't work things out. The last piece is only if they really need to do that. and also need to remind the students that if someone is becoming HOT and violent that we have to go tell a teacher, don't try to stand your ground just go find help. If you see someone being teased, should you watch or should you go find help? Sometimes it's hard to stand up for other people, but if you stand around and watch then you are a teaser too. Make the good choice, be COOL and go find help! :)
bell will ring soon. be back after <3
